The Fells Newbury, NH-On Lake Sunapee
The Fells (Hays Estate) is an 84 acre estate and gardens on Lake Sunapee. It sits across the lake from the Sunapee State Beach and is probably one of the last places on the lake were there is actually still a forest on its banks. We missed the tour of the house, but spent about and hour checking out the gardens and wooded paths. I would highly recommend a visit. For Lebanon residents there are free passes available at the library.

Balch Hill Nature Area-Hanover, NH
Another simple, relaxing hike available in the Upper Valley. Only 0.2 miles to the top and once you get there you do not want to leave. I wonder if the deer know about the deer exclusion project?
