In search of Tipping Rock
After I saw this picture from a post on the Lebanon Historical Society Facebook page, I knew I had to find this old 18th century landmark. It was a two week journey scouring Boston Lot (Landmark Property) trying to find this rock. I thought I knew everything about the 3000+ acre parcel, but I was dead wrong. Walking the woods off the beaten path, there are some amazing geological points of interest and there are thousands and thousands of large rocks. Dragonflies at the Quarry
A short hike from Mount Support Road can get you to a very unique spot that is great for exploring. An old abandoned quarry that looks like the stone was never used. The trail starts on the top of Dartmouth Ave. There are two trails either Bruce Lee (more challenging) or Get Yer Goat. Both will take you to the top. Get Yer Goat intersects with the old access Road for a quicker accent, but very steep and technical. I would recommend taking Get Yer Goat to Quarry Direct, then come back down Bruce Lee.
