A July Evening at Saint Gaudens
Brent and I had a guys night out and stopped in at Saint Gaudens before they closed. We checked out the workshop and got some photos. We then decided to check out the trails and made a pit stop at the small work shop at the head of the trail. Here we met the sculptor-in-residence. He explained in detail to Brent and I about lost-wax casting and made Brent memorized these terms: the sprue cup, the sprue, the runners, and the riser; all parts of the casting process. We then checked out the old swimming hole and the flower gardens and then off for some strawberry/lemon ice cream in Windsor.…

The Wild Flowers of The King Bird Sanctuary
It was pigs in the blanket for dinner and when they were done cooking we all hopped in the car for a stroll in the King Bird Sanctuary. This is a small nature tract behind the Etna, NH Library. It was a quick walk, so my focus was on the wild flowers with my 40mm Macro lens mounted. Here are my shots…
