My first Stab at Infrared Photography
I decided to try out my new Hoya R72 Infrared Filter a few weeks ago on Shaker Hill. The filter lets in very little light and is equivalent to a 8-10 stop Neutral Density filter. Most of these exposures were around 20-30 seconds long with an aperature of around f/8. An infrared filter only passes light above 750nm. Infrared light is between 750-1000nm and we can only see around the 750 level, but the camera sensor can see it all. It can lead to some interesting photos with a lot of creative input. Sunset in the Lot
Took a late afternoon hike in the Boston Lot and went off the beaten path as I usually do. I ended up at the large marsh on the southern end. Always something new to look at.
