This weekend\u2019s hiking adventure brought Brent and I to explore Smith Pond in Enfield, NH.  You get there by taking Exit 15 on I89 (Montcalm\/Smith Pond Rd) and then driving up Smith Pond Road until you see a place to park on the left. From there it was a mystery which way to go , so we continued up the road and then through a gate and continued up the dirt\/gravel road until we came to some clear-cut logging where we found some signs (but missed the one for the trail). We continued up the road to a private cabin on the pond. We back tracked a little and took a side road that finally brought us to a small dam on the pond. Here we found the trail head for the trail we missed. If you continue by the road or a trail that hugs the pond you come to two more dams. Taking the correct trail back to Smith Pond Road (red trail) you must go through the tree carnage. I highly recommend a trek to Smith Pond, but prefer the Enfield trail.<\/p>\n
